Book review: The 7 habits of happy kids
Guest writer and 9 year old children's book expert, Jiya Goila, thinks this is a book all kids should read. If you have read or heard of 'The 7 habits of highly effective people' then you will be familiar with the key takeaways from this book written by Stephen Covey's son, Sean Covey.
Have you read "The 7 Habits of Happy Kids"? It is a captivating and crucial book for children. It features 7 friends - Jumper, Goob, Sammy, Sophie, Lily, Pokey and Allie. This essential book tells you about seven habits which you must follow in life.
The book has 7 stories, one for each of the main characters. If you read all the stories you will learn about the seven habits in a fun way. The first habit is "Be Proactive", second is "Have a Plan and Begin with the End in Mind", third is "Work First, then Play", fourth "Think Win-Win", fifth "Seek first to Understand, Then to be Understood" or "Listen before you Talk", sixth is "Together is better" and seventh is "Balance feels Best". The stories are all fun and memorable, the illustrations are beautiful too.
This book is excellent for children age 4 to 9 years old. I would rate it 4.3 out of 5. I hope you read it. If you do, let me know what your rating for it is.
